Bill To Speed Zika Virus Treatment Moves to House Committee

Senate passed bill to add disease to FDA’s Priority Review Voucher Program.

Earlier this week, a bill designed to help accelerate the development of vaccines and treatments for the Zika virus was referred to the House Committee. The “Adding Zika Virus to the FDA Priority Review Voucher Program Act”—which was introduced in February by Sens. Johnny Isakson (D-GA), Al Franken (D-MN), Sherrod Brown, D (OH), and Bill Nelson, (D-FL)—passed the Senate on March 17.
